Daydream: Radiohead
Meltdown, in London's South Bank Centre, runs according to the principle of having a big-name curator programme the bill over a number of days and venues. ATP have been operating a similar set-up in holiday camps.

Radiohead's South Park, Oxford gig back in 2001 worked on a similar premise - they'd headline and have their friends and respected fellow artists on the same bill with them.
Taking the concept a little further in the same week as 2008's Massive Attack-curated Meltdown and very much south of South Park, the inaugural Daydream Festival is a one day, one night event in Barcelona's Parc del Fórum headlined and programmed by Radiohead across the site's three stages or, as the festival says: "A line up of artists in which the bands and DJs confirmed hold some type of relationship with our headliners." Vague, but potentially rather ace.

Radiohead's current tour mates Bat For Lashes, with new material in the offing, are second on a bill that also includes Four Tet, Liars, M83, Clinic, Faust and Low, with DJ sets from Christian Vogel.

There's also the Ensemble Nacional de Música Contemporánea de España presenting 'Off Computer', a repertoire based on Johnny Greenwood songs and an orchestral take on OK Computer.

Doors open at 4pm and the site runs to 11pm - a much earlier finish than some of this venue's other events, notably the dancetastic Sonar the following week, the recent Primavera Sound and the forthcoming Summercase, but this is a school night.

For those not ready to head to bed so early, Nightdream is the official aftershow party at the Razzmatazz Club, entry to which sets Daydream ticket holders back an extra five euros. Plaid are among the lesser-known line-up.

But for most, Daydream is a chance to catch a leisurely Radiohead set in a top-notch venue in a balmy climate. One special request to Thom Yorke though: If you must play Paranoid Android, please avoid the lyric "Rain down, rain down, come on rain down on me from a great height"...
